Kindergarten (K-1 and K-2)

Our Kindergarten program recognizes that children will soon be entering grade-school; hence it is vital that we equip them with the resources needed to succeed in school. Our comprehensive curriculum is based on the IB-PYP. Children focus on 4 central ideas through the course of the year - they ask questions and learn about who they are, the world around them, sharing the planet, and how the world works. Children in K-1 and K-2 spend 5 hours in school everyday.

The Bell Goes Off

Language Workshop

Our language workshop is divided into 3 parts - a co-working space, a multi-level library, and a show-and-tell podium. The table and chair area is equipped with white boards, group work tables, and iPad stations. Children will use this area to write and learn phonetics, words, and sentences. The multi-level library will serve as a reading and storytelling nook. The show-and-tell area will have a podium, a puppet theatre, and circular seating for audiences.

Math Workshop

The Math Workshop is divided into 3 parts - a co-working area, an interconnected manipulatives table, and a block area. Children will work with teachers to learn math foundationsin the co-working area. Teachers will set up the manipulatives table for math activities including counting, addition, subtraction, and puzzles. The block area is a place where children will use math to create structures using blocks.

Art and Sensory Workshop

The workshop is divided into 4 areas - the splash and easel boards area, the light and mirror exploration tables, the group work area, and the material tables. Children will create 2D and 3D art on easel boards, play with cut outs to create collages on the light and mirror table, work with a teacher to explore maestros in the group work area and play with hundred of materials on the materials table.

Makerspace

The makerspace is divided into 5 main areas - a maker-wall that lets children craft cause-effect models, discovery tables that are experiments and investigations curated by teachers, digital landscapes that are projections of nature for children to build and play, study tables where teachers will make students learn basic science concepts, and a block area where they will create structures and experiment with size, shape, cause-effect, and weight.

Music Workshop

Music is a skill which can help children across a variety of subject areas whether it be math, logical reasoning, or natural sciences. Our music center is divided into 5 parts - drums and percussion area, wind and brass area, string instruments area, pianos and keyboard area, and the teaching area. Children will be exposed to different genres of music that represent different cultures. They will sing songs and play instruments collaboratively or alone.

Dance and Drama Workshop

Our kindergarteners will be exposed to dance styles from across the world and use it as a way to express themselves. Children will immerse in pretend play as a way to explore the world beyond their home and classroom. They will utilize props and costumes to understand various professions and cultures. The dance and drama workshop has been designed as a theatre - children will use this space to showcase plays and dance performances.

Indoor and outdoor play

Our Kindergarten students will spend 60 minutes on physical play everyday. They will play on slides, ramps, swings, tricycles, and tunnels. They will go for adventures in the treehouse or indulge in formalised sports including basketball, football, and croquet. Keeping in mind the Ahmedabad weather, we have created an indoor gym where children will walk on balancing beams, dive into larger than life ball pools, go rock climbing, or do trampoline jumping.
